Is this a true martial art?

Ok I%26#039;ve heard of people using a fighting style gentle fist and I%26#039;ve seen one use it but I%26#039;m not sure if its even a real martial art if it is could i get a site on it i would like to get some details

Is this a true martial art?
Gentle Fist is a style of fighting from the Naruto. Yes, from naruto. What that means is that it%26#039;s made up.

But then every MA style is made up by someone, somewhere, somehow. So is it a real style? No. Would I suggest learning it? No.

Here%26#039;s the thing, you can learn a fighting style from instructional videos and even just videos of it being used. A formal setting with an instructor is of course best BUT it is of course possible to learn without one.

The difference here however is that Gentle Fist and all other styles in Naruto and similar mediums is from a fictional FANTASY world. The style is meant to disrupt the flow of chakra in the opponent. Seeing the problem here? Gentle Fist is a style made for use ina fantasy world. Not our real world.

Tell these people that they can enjoy Naruto and play their games all they want but if they want to learn to fight they need to learn a real style, one that has been proven effective in the real world.
Reply:purcell%26#039;s answer is completely incorrect.

I wanted to post about a page of stuff explaining why, but this character limit won%26#039;t let me.

Pressure on certain points has been proven in western science to cause black outs and other symptoms.

Search Dim Mak. That%26#039;s what the style is based off of. Report It

Reply:Sounds like a Kung Fu-esque style, if it is real.
Reply:It is from manga/anime (Japanese animation) and as far as I know (I%26#039;ve been involved with various martial art systems for twenty years) there is no %26quot;Gentle Fist%26quot; (Ju-Te) style.
Reply:There is a martial art called dim mak which allows you to strike vital points on a persons body with minimum force to cause illness and death.
Reply:do you mean tai chi ?

if yes,

yes its a martial art. basely on kung fu..

it helps your blood circulation

bruce lee uses tai chi plus jeet kune do
Reply:are you talking a bout tai chi?

if so then yes it is a style
Reply:yes there is a gentle fist...it was made in Kunfu...they are target all the 300 pressure point in your body....sometimes only 200. Those teachnique aren%26#039;t made up anything...You just don%26#039;t hear it seen it that much in real life...Mostly in Naruto Neji the one who used...
Reply:no-it is a fighting style. not a martial art. a fighting style only becomes a martial art when it is adopted by a country%26#039;s armed force as part of it%26#039;s training curriculum. for example some of the japanese fighting arts are considered true martial arts (jui-jitsu-taught in the american and japanese forces and some forms of sword fighting also in the japanese forces). of the more modern systems taekwondo is taught in the korean armed forces and boxing taught in the british army is in fact also a martial art.

army=martial way=martial art.
