Mixed martial arts training?

This question applys to all styles. I want to get involved in a good martial art but during mma training, do you get any trauma do the body. Can you learn mma but not get long term injuries in the process.

Mixed martial arts training?
What I suggest for people looking to get into the mma is to get training in many different styles. Learn some judo, jujitsu, boxing, and taekwondo.

You see, the reason I suggest that is because you cover all aspects and areas of fighting. With training in all those styles you got skills in kicking, punching, ground defense, and defense against stand up attacks.
Reply:possible, and it depends what kind of mma you talking about?
Reply:mma is no joke, I dont see how you could learn it, and train to do it without possible lasting injuries, let alone if you enter a contest, you could be injured pretty bad, I mean come on, these guys are crazy, tough, and extremely athletic people.
Reply:If you%26#039;re doing lite sparring and training properly you won%26#039;t have any lasting trauma. Injuries are not a result of proper (casual) training, they are a result of actual fights.

Now people like myself who compete and/or train with more intensity can injure themselves, but that%26#039;s a different story...
Reply:hard training
Reply:The way I understand your question is that you want to get involved in martial arts (especially mixed martial arts) but you want to avoid injuries. My suggestion is if you are afraid of injury, don%26#039;t do it. Not only is there a risk of injuring during training, especially if sparring, but if you have a little voice in your head saying you can%26#039;t get injured you are actually more likely to be hurt. There are low impact martial arts that you should look into if you are looking to avoid injury, otherwise don%26#039;t worry about it, go out there and enjoy the experience.
Reply:Look if you are going to join any Martial Arts Dojo, they will make you sign an accident waiver, if you are scared or dont want to get hurt try something else.

In training I personally have broken my three fingers and a thumb, dislocated a fellow students shoulder, and split someones upper lip.

I,ve also seen someones eyeball scratched open.

Now if you are concerned about training in Martial Arts but are concerned about your own safety, you might be better off building model airplanes or something of that nature.
